 It really started quite innocently. On a whim.
I'd just written my article, When Narcissists "Get Religion," You Get Screwed for PsychCentral. With a twinkle in my eye and a delicious feeling of daring, I posted it on the Fourth Baptist Alumni and Friends Facebook group...just for kicks. You see, my experiences at FBCS had inspired a portion of the article. Frankly, I expected my post to be taken down immediately. What actually happened shocked the shit outta' me! Alumni started coming out of the woodwork with an "At Last!" kinda' attitude. My thanks to the gentleman who had the marvelous idea of writing about FBCS on my blog. How did he phrase it again?
"This woman needs to keep her opinions on her blog and not on a Facebook group." What an absolutely marvelous idea! Odd that it never occurred to me before. Ya' just never know where inspiration will strike! See what happens when you piss off a writer. They do nasty things like writing inconvenient truths. And on my blog, I cannot be removed. I cannot be blocked. I cannot be deleted. Genius, sir! Pure genius! Where do I begin? Of course, there are two sides to every story. I can only speak from my own experience at Fourth. Which would you like first? The good news, yes? Scholastically, FBCS was excellent. They also maintained discipline and order, seared much Scripture into your memory and taught you right from wrong. Yep. And now, for the bad news. Grab a cuppa, cause we're gonna be here awhile. |
Lenora Thompson...
...attended FBCS from 1986-1996. While there, she believes she both witnessed and heard about several abuses and scandals that were successfully hushed up and swept under the carpet.
