![]() Twice a week I write Narcissism Meets Normalcy, a blog devoted to all things about narcissism, narcissists and narcissistic abuse. So it came as a rude and horrible surprise to many of my readers when I publicly stated that I was pro-Trump, whom everyone recognized as potentially a narcissist. Readers and Facebook friends left in droves screaming, "Lenora! How can you, of all people, vote for that, that, that narcissist, Trump!?" It's very simple. This election wasn't about feelings. It was about Freedom. C'mon, we were electing the CEO of the nation...not marrying the guy! I wasn't blind to his narcissism. In fact, I pointed it out in my article Two Perfectly Personality Disordered Candidates. I also called out Hillary Clinton as potentially a sociopath. Here's my deal: Given the choice between a narcissist and a sociopath, I'll vote for the narc every time! Narcissists may be assholes, but they're simple. They're predictable. After watching at least thirty rallies, I think Trump plays up his narcissism with a twinkle in his eyes. He brags, boasts and claims to be the best, but it's all part of the persona. He appears to be narcissist, but we've also seen him grieving over America's suffering.
When he walked onstage to make his acceptance speech, did you see his face? He wasn't gloating. He wasn't vain. He wasn't boastful. He was deeply, deeply moved. The point is the election wasn't about my or your emotions. It wasn't about the (many!) narcissistic shenanigans Trump has pulled in the past. It wasn't about his alleged personality disorder. It was about Freedom! Our choice on November 8th was profound. Perhaps never in the history of our presidential elections have the lines been more clearly drawn. Given the choice between a candidate who…
As I said in my Perfectly Personality Disordered article, “I doubt there will ever be an election where an emotionally healthy person aspires to lead the nation. C’mon! Do you want the job!?!...I’m glad there are those who freely choose to step up to the plate, personality disorders and all, to lead this great nation. You almost have to be a little “unique” to say, 'Hey! I got this! No problem! Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!'” And luckily, the President is not a dictator. He's the CEO of a huge corporation, The United States of America. He works for us now. We call the shots. Unlike the iron-fisted domination of a narcissist, the President is checked and balanced by the Legislative Branch and Judicial Branch. And if he's goes rogue, then in 2020 it'll be our turn to say, “Your fired!” If his actions pre-inauguration are anything to go by, I believe in 2020 he'll receive another resounding "You're hired!" Let me put it like this: I'll vote for a narcissist any day over a Lady Benedict Arnold! If you liked my article, please subscribe! I'm also trying to raise the funds to afford a travel oxygen concentrator so my terminally ill husband is less housebound. Obamacare won't pay for it. A contribution of any amount would be greatly appreciate. Thank you!

I love America as the Founding Fathers designed her more than life itself. And she's worth working, fighting and sacrificing. Here's my take on the election, President Trump and America, "a shining city on a hill." ArchivesCategories
