![]() “You have all the freedoms you need,” the liberal gal Tweeted back to me. I was shocked. Is that really how the Left thinks? She and I had been engaging in a back-and-forth debate on Election Day. Oh, I'd probably pissed her off by commenting on her “fuck trump” tweet. At least it started a dialogue. I brought up the freedoms we all enjoy as a pro-Trump argument. This was her response. I have all the freedoms I need. NEED! That was the key word. It was a fascinating insight into Liberal philosophy….as well as “a scathing indictment of the American educational system.” (Okay, yeah. I ripped that line off from Sheldon Cooper in The Big Bang Theory.) Her tweet brought me back to my twenties. My family is dysfunctional as far back as, well, let's just say that the “good ol' days” is a frickin' myth! So dysfunctional that they made my adult desire for freedom too painful to pursue. Like a cult, I was brainwashed, love-bombed and ordered to live with 'em “against my will” until just a few years ago. Their main excuse, I mean, reason: “safety.”
Oh, I had some freedoms...the ones I “needed.” It was a kind of living death. Patrick Henry was right: Give me [complete] liberty or give me death. Begrudgingly doling out a few freedoms to the victims of total tyranny has a name: Stockholm Syndrome. The captive receives a few kindnesses, a few pleasures to keep 'em quiet and bonded to their captor. Why do they stay!? For the same reason 85% victims of domestic abuse return to their abuser. Obviously, they fear their captor. But a clever captor plays the victim card so well, they can actually make their captive feel empathy, not for themselves, but for the one holding them hostage. The abuse just makes the captive appreciate the few freedoms doled out to them all the more! What has our government done? Gradually manipulated and brainwashed us into relinquishing our inalienable rights in exchange for the mythical “safety" they so generously provide. Here's a couple of examples: Register our weapons? Of course! Wouldn't want 'em in the “wrong hands.” It's not safe. So when some crazy whackjob starts shooting, yeah, they're the only one packin' heat. Real safe! Shoot our kids full of autism-causing vaccinations? Of course! Running around without vaccines isn't safe! (FYI: The many unvaccinated Amish kids in my neck-of-the-woods are not autistic, healthy as horses and not obese. The vaccinated Amish kids, in the same family, are very obese. Oh, I know all about the scientific studies "proving" the vaccines are "safe." But I believe the evidence of my own eyes a whole lot more!) Those are just two examples, but the list goes on and on. You catch my drift. Freedom isn't a need that gets doled out to us out of the goodness of someone else's heart. Been there. Lived it. It sucks! Freedom is an inalienable God-Given right. So don't tread on me, oh, don't you dare tread on me! Have other examples of exchanging freedom for safety? Please share in the Comments section below! I love America as the Founding Fathers designed her more than life itself. And she's worth working, fighting and sacrificing. Here's my take on the election, President Trump and America, "a shining city on a hill." ArchivesCategories
