![]() Trump received a speaking fee. From a Russian Oligarch. $150,000. Quick! Fetch me my smelling salts! According to the DailyMailUK, this “will open Trump up to similar questions” as Clinton faced for receiving $8.6 million in “donations” to the Clinton Foundation. Hold the phone. I spy with my little eye a double-frickin-standard. First of all, there's a slight difference between $150k vs $8.6 million. Trump received 1.74% of the amount Clinton received. Even if a conflict of interest is in question, I think President-Elect Trump has shown that he doesn't give a damn about anything except the wishes of the electorate. C'mon! The man is worth a cool $3.7 billion. The $150k is chickenfeed to him. Secondly, the donation to the Trump Foundation was given in 2015. Yes, Trump had announced his candidacy. No, he was not a public servant yet. He was still in the private sector. Thirdly, and I can hardly believe this needs to be articulated, Trump had nothing to give in exchange for the $150k except his time and talent. He had placed no classified state secrets on insecure private servers. He had no clout in the State Department for brokering sales of weapons. C'mon, DailyMail. To quote the Bible, you're “straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel.” Your allusion that this opens Trump up to “similar questions” as Clinton faced is laughably premature. Hello! No pay-for-play has occurred. If it does, then we'll talk. In the meantime, I cry double-standard!

If there were no double standards, there would be no standards. Which about sums of the mainstream media, apparently even across the pond. You would think they have enough problems to keep themselves busy but no they need to attempt to create them here.

I love America as the Founding Fathers designed her more than life itself. And she's worth working, fighting and sacrificing. Here's my take on the election, President Trump and America, "a shining city on a hill." ArchivesCategories
