The lessons the valiant Canadian Truckers have taught the entire world this week can't be learned in any book nor classroom. Over and over I read tweets about tough men and strong women who've been brought to tears by the kindness, the generosity and the friendliness of thetruckers and those caring for them in Ottawa.
I'm ashamed to admit that as a kid I only ever heard three things about truckers, all of them negative.
Something about "repenting in sackcloth and ashes" is appropriate here because that was horribly wrong. The Canadian truckers have put all their detractors to shame. Contradicted all the derogatory clichés. They are determined to be impeccable. To heap hot coals of kindness on the heads of those who wish to accuse them, shame them, arrest them.
Here's what I've learned after just one week of following the Freedom Convoy and ten years of marriage to a former trucker!
