The Tear-Jerking Story Behind the World War II Flag Flying Proudly on the People's Convoy Lead Truck
It's old. It's slightly yellowed. It's wrinkled. It only has forty-eight stars. But the World War II flag fluttering proudly from the lead convoy truck driven by Mike Landis has a story that will have even the toughest trucker "chopping onions in his cab."
It all began earlier this week when a Texan drove to Oklahoma to meet the convoy. He found Mike Landis and said, "I've got something for ya." Reaching behind the seat of his truck, he produced an American flag folded in the distinctive triangle we all know so well from military funerals.
That's when Mike started "chopping onions."
