From the hill overlooking the Lost River in Gonvick, Michael and I silently gazed down on the traveling Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall standing tall and silent against the green grass and golden sunset. There were no words.
The sight of the names of 58,307 service men and women who lost their lives in Vietnam engraved on the wall was one of the most sobering experience of my life.
Whether or not you or a family member served in Vietnam, as an American the wall fills you with solemnity. There are tears. When the memorial comes to your town, take the time to see it.
Once seen, never forgotten.
