Timeless Scriptures of Comfort for the Righteous Oppressed by the Wicked in Power
The day you realize the Wicked (appear to) have the upper-hand over this cockeyed World with no repercussions for their devilry is a sad day. You lose your philosophical innocence and wide-eyed wonder in this world that, despite so much evil, is still heart-achingly beautiful.
For some of you, like my husband Michael, that realization has been your reality since birth. There never was a wide-eyed innocent wonder at this beautiful world for Michael. Only horror. As a son of a drunken, viciously abusive man, Michael has never seen the world's potential for goodness through rose-colored glasses as I have. Like so many other Abuse Survivors, early abuse resulted in him being a "shit magnet" for many years.
I was blessed with parents who shielded me from the vicious side of life, perhaps too much. My first three decades were spent with my nose buried in a book. Sometimes I'd look up at the Real World but Reality couldn't hold a candle to C. S. Lewis or Tolkien so I dove back into wonderful books where Beavers can talk and Good always triumphs over Evil.
A Salute to Spouses/Caregivers of Veterans with Gulf War Illness/Syndrome (Deployed and Non-Deployed)

We never raised our right hand and vowed to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States” but we may as well have. We simply said “I Do” and, Baby, as far as I’m concerned, we spouses/caregivers became veterans every bit as much as our spouse who suffers from GWI, deployed or non-deployed. Only we’re not in for four or eight years. We’re in "til death do us part" because Gulf War Illness never quits.
Dear Patriots: What a Blessed Week!
What a week! Eh? What a week!
So much has happened and y'know what? Most of it's been good. I do believe, yes I do believe, the headlines are trending in the right direction.
I was going to write another Article Proper today but what the heck! A letter is much more fun, don't you think?
Where to start? So much has happened, I have to consult my journal and daily spreadsheet to remember it all. Yes, I keep a spreadsheet of our lives...To-Dos, things that happened, things to remember, budgeting. Hey! Don't laugh! I'm German. We are a very organized people!
This isn't an article. Just a chat over coffee with friends. Do you take it black or white...or is that considered a racially insensitive question too!?!
Like Q, please don't mistake my recent silence for inaction. I've been a busy little bee, full of stings, making honey day and night...how did Bette Davis get into this!?!
So much has happened!
Where to start?
Reagan Was Liked but Trump Is Loved
Sometimes, you don't realize how much you love someone until they're in trouble. That's how it was for us, the American people, when we heard that President Trump and Melania had tested positive for COVID-19. I bet you can remember exactly where you were when you first heard the news.
