You and I have heard the word "coup" hundreds of times yet we never imagined it could happen here in America...a coup pulled off so subtly the word "coup" barely came to mind!
Maybe I'm slow on the uptake but it didn't quite hit me until last week that what Joe and his ilk did was a bona fide, honest, forthright, upright, downright coup d'etat!
Just because the military wasn't involved, doesn't mean it wasn't a coup.
Just because a General drunk on power didn't install himself in the White House, doesn't mean it wasn't a coup.
Just because it was (almost) bloodless, doesn't mean it wasn't a coup.
We've been calling it "voter fraud" but that's a euphemism. It sanitizes and downplays what really happened: A proper coup d'etat.
Instead of a power-hungry general, they installed a wobbly old man. Instead of the military backing him, there were thousands of Soccer Moms and Softball Dads quietly committing treason as Election Judges.
We didn't think it could happen because Americans are a genteel, peaceful, civilized people. And so the coup was genteel, peaceful and civilized. It was conducted intellectually with thousands of bits of paper erroneously called "valid ballots."
And now they have the bloody gall to Project their coup onto General Flynn and the Patriots in DC on January 6th.
Is there anything these people won't stoop to?
Sorry, my bad. Stupid question. There's nothing they won't stoop to!
There's an infuriating story from The Hiding Place in which Righteous Gentile, Corrie ten Boom, relates how her always-tell-the-truth niece betrayed the Jews she was hiding in her cellar because she valued telling the truth, even to Nazis, above protecting the precious people who had trusted her with their lives.
That chapter of The Hiding Place always made me furious.
Yes, lying is wrong. Yes, it's against the Ten Commandments. Yes, our word should be impeccable.
But when evil people demand information from us that we know they intend to use for evil...screw 'em!!! That's our cue to lie like rugs. General Michael Flynn did it so beautifully this morning, he should be our model.
We're all tired. All of us! I get that.
What I don't get is how demoralized some (part-time?) patriots became after SCOTUS' dismissal of the Texas case on Friday.
Big frickin' deal!
Before November 3rd, we expended an incredible amount of emotional, patriotic and spiritual energy on the pre-election fervor.
Then when the Democrats' steal was revealed on 11/3 and 11/4, we momentarily got the wind knocked out of us. But we ain't no quitters because we know that Donald J. Trump upright, forthright, downright won re-election!
The more the magnitude of the fraud was revealed by courageous whistleblowers like Richard Hopkins, the better we felt. When it reached ridiculous proportions, I got the giggles. The Dems did it so "well" they cooked their own goose! Brilliant!
Then began the court cases. Lots of 'em and only a few went our way. SCOTUS' dismissal of the Texas case on Friday, just before the Jericho March, was for some patriots the last straw.
Hopeless tweets from demoralized patriots irritate me as much as that loathsome word "hopium" implying the MAGA crowd are somehow delusional. Just putting off our inevitable disappointment because we're too fragile to face failure.
In the words of our great naval hero, John Paul Jones, "We have not yet begun to fight!"
