FAMILY REUNION: There's no other term to describe today's SAVE AMERICA rally in Des Moines, IA. It wasn't a political rally. It wasn't even what we Minnesotans call "a get-together." It was a joyful family reunion of the Great American Family of Patriots with President Trump, our beloved patriarch, as the great, big, warm patriotic heart at the center of our big happy patriotic family.
He looked good too, didn't he, Patriots? As strong and vibrant as ever. For a blessed few hours, it was just like the good ol' days. Trump whistlestopping by private jet. Vast MAGA crowds dancing, cheering, pledging, praying, singing and watching football together for hours as they waited to see him: our Re-Founding Father.
There's a term for the feeling at a Trump Rally: Camelot. Every time he holds a SAVE AMERICA rally, we taste Camelot again. Every time he leaves is more heart-breaking and intolerable than the last time.
Today in Des Moines, IA was no exception. Cheers rang. Patriotism swelled. And the love! The love was palpable.
You know it the instant you hear it. A sole bugle playing To the Colors leading into the most unforgettable (unbleeped!) speech delivered by General Patton to the Third Army in 1944. After the shameful events in Afghanistan last week, it was the perfect introduction to President Trump's speech in Sweet Home Alabama last night. You could even say that General Patton (played by George C. Scott) was the warm-up act for President Trump. It doesn't get any better. If you don't get goosebumps watching this, you're made of sterner stuff than I am. I had goosebumps on my goosebumps!
