AMERICA: The Blog
AMERICA: The Blog
Six months ago, I thought the word "community" was the dumbest word in the English language. Having been raised in near isolation by a rabidly independent family who rarely received help nor offered assistance to others, "community" conveyed nothing to me except Hillary's sneered at comment, "It takes a village." Naturally, I equated "community" with liberal clap-trap.
But I was wrong.
The Patriot community is amazing. Do we realize how powerful we are!?!
"The world is an evil place," my parents always tried to impress on me. But twenty years ago, as a young woman with my eyes full of stars and my heart full of dreams, I found that hard to believe. I tried to take their warnings to heart and see a would-be attacker or rapist around every corner, lurking down every alley but as time went on, I learned that your normal, every day, garden variety American is a pretty nice, good person.
Oh, I knew bad things happened but I believed that, for example, child molestation was rare. A now-and-then occurrence when that weird Uncle Bob lured his niece or nephew into the back shed with candy.
Then middle-aged men began coming forward with horrible stories of Catholic priests who had abused them decades ago. Middle-aged women began to talk openly about being sexually abused by nuns at Catholic orphanages. Lots of priests and nuns at lots of parishes.
And I figured the Catholic church had a problem.
Then I heard that the pastors and PK's at my strict, IFB school groomed and raped students.
And I figured there was a problem amongst some protestant clergy too.
Then I heard about orphans from Boys Town in Nebraska trafficked to the White House under George H. W. Bush's reign. And I figured GHWB had a problem.
But I was wrong. My rosy view of the world was wrong. In fact, my look-on-the-dark side parents were wrong too. The whole cockeyed world is wrong.
Pedophilia isn't isolated to that weird uncle with the perpetual Epstein smirk or that creepy pastor. Don't get me wrong, they're bad but they're garden variety pedophiles. Isolated. Working alone. Small potatoes. And so, for a long time, we thought they were the only pedophiles because they were the only ones getting prosecuted while the Global Pedophilia and Sex Trafficking Ringleaders said how horrible it all was, gave generously to charities to help victims of sexual abuse and swam away unseen, unprosecuted, unfettered.
We're just beginning to get it. Pedophilia is rampant. It's not isolated, it's not rare, it's not secretive. No! It's massive!!! It's everywhere!!! It's systemic in the fabric of every system, every culture, every religion, every industry, every nation. It's how the world works now.
It's like Charlie Chaplin said in his movie Monsier Verdoux: "Kill one person and you're a murderer; kill a thousand and you're a hero."
Rape one child and you're a horrible pedophile. Rape, traffick and murder thousands of children and you're an influential Prince of Industry. You're a respected Politician. You're the leader of a Religion. You're a past President.
Pedophilia is a culture. It's a network. It's an entertainment. It's a hierarchy. It's a currency. It's a religion. It's how the world has worked for years...and only the good people did not know it. The good people who could've tried to do something to stop it if only they'd known it was going on.
I've finally got it through my thick skull that pedophilia is the underlying structure of how the globe functions. Thank God Donald Trump is taking it down!
Almost 2 Million MAGA March Visited by Trump. Patriots Marched for Freedom in Merrie Olde England and Germany Too
In the wee hours of November 3rd, as President Trump's final campaign rally wrapped up, I already missed the exhilaration of the MAGA rallies. I hated to pack up my patriotism in my old kit-bag and smile, smile, smile until the 2024 Presidential election. (Don Jr? Eric? Candace?)
Then the Left's ridiculously overdone election "steal" came along and if you thought the Spirit of America burned brightly before, oh baby! You ain't seen nothin' yet. It glowed before. It rages now.
Today, more than one million people flew, rode, drove, caravanned and Trump Trained their way to Washington D. C. where they walked or rolled in wheelchairs for the Million MAGA March insisting loudly, proudly and peacefully that this government by the people accept the people's choice of President. And our choice is Donald J. Trump. (Duh!) It was a scene straight out of Frank Capra's 1941 movie Meet John Doe...but in color.
Meanwhile, across the pond, our brothers and sisters in Merrrie Olde England have caught that most contagious of viruses. No, not Covid! Freedom. They marched for liberty today too.
Who do we have to thank for this outpouring of patriotism and the stoking of the Lamp of Freedom?
Why, the Left, of course! They did us all a tremendous favor on November 3rd, November 4th, November 5th, November 6th. Hey! Does anyone know if they've stopped counting, re-counting, scanning, re-re-re-scanning, printing and fabricating ballots yet????
Jimmy Stewart: Look! There it is!
Eugene Pallette: What? Who?
Jimmy Stewart: The Capitol Dome!
That three second scene from Frank Capra's movie, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, encapsulates the way you and I feel about America. I guess we learned our patriotism at Mr. Smith's knee.
Now, some people go through life "all wised up" as Jean Arthur says in the movie. Cynical. Gritty. They're the ones who growl, "America was never great" and are keen to destroy the glow of glory surrounding our national heroes by telling us how bad they really were. What a sad way of living!
I'm not made that way and neither are you. When it comes to America, we're pure idealists because America is herself an Ideal.
Like Jimmy Stewart in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, I believe the word "America" should always glow in our minds, always bring a lump to the throat, always conjure an image of a shining city on a hill.
Generations come, generations go. America the Ideal always remains. Always striving, sometimes misstepping, correcting her course, always progressing. Sometimes glowing bright, sometimes dimmer. But always inching closer and closer to that Ideal dreamt by our Founding Fathers and encapsulated in our beloved Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights.
As Jimmy Stewart said...
Boys forget what their country means
by just reading "the land of the free" in history books.
Then they get to be men--
they forget even more.
Liberty is too precious a thing
to be buried in books....
Men should hold it up in front of them--
every day of their lives and say:
"I'm free--to think--to speak.
My ancestors couldn't.
And my children will."
The boys outta grow up remembering that.
Every Election Year reminds us to "hold it up in front of" us and marvel that we are "free--to think and to speak. My ancestors couldn't. I can."
How did President Trump win in 2016?
How will he win again on Tuesday, November 3rd?
It's not rocket science. He whistle-stops. In 2016 aboard his private jet. In 2020, via Air Force One.
Whistle-stopping is as old as the hills. Historians trace it back to the campaign-by-train of William Henry Harrison in 1836. But my favorite whistle-stopper was a Democratic president whom I greatly admire, Harry S. Truman.
In 1948, Harry Truman, wife Bess and daughter Margaret traveled 31,000 miles and delivered 356 speeches from the caboose of their train, the Ferdinand Magellan.
As always, Hollywood director Frank Capra explained whistle-stopping best in his 1941 movie, Meet John Doe. In the movie, actor Gary Cooper (as John Doe) takes to the rails like Trump (by private jet!) to bring a message of hope to America. As Cooper travels from one rally to another, he ponders on why people come to see him speak?
There are certain popular words these days that, once they are pinned on a person or institution, even if there isn't a morsel of truth in it, are automatically assumed to cancel them out...permanently. Words like...
As soon as Donald Trump announced his candidacy in 2015, screams of "Narcissist!" resounded through cyberspace.
It was the perfect label at the perfect time. The whole Narcissism trend had just started and I was in the perfect place at the perfect time too. As Trump began his presidential campaign, I began writing PsychCentral's first dedicated narcissism blog, Narcissism Meets Normalcy.
Every time I hear someone say, "the new normal," I cringe. Like fingernails on a chalkboard, it sets my teeth on edge.
That's because I know from sad experience how abusers have carte blanche in the absence of normalcy - the stick in the spokes of their abuse. Abusers and narcissists hate normalcy because it puts a cramp in their style. The first thing cults make new members jettison is their old normalcy. As Todd bragged on Chrisley Knows Best, "There ain't no normal here." My point.
The events of 2020 have given certain people "dressed in a little brief authority" just the excuse they craved to jettison normal, to terrify, to divide and to conquer by brainwashing nice, normal people into exchanging their God-given freedom for so-called "safety."
For five years, I've advocated for the importance of the protection of normalcy. Naming my old blog, Narcissism Meets Normalcy was not a whim. I coined that title because I know, from experience, how much bad can happen when the protection of normalcy is removed.
"Trust your gut."
How many times have you heard those words?
But for victims of Narcissistic Abuse, it's well nigh impossible...impossible!
The very essence of Narcissistic Abuse is, "Don't trust your gut...nor your eyes, ears, emotions, intuition. Pay no attention to that man behind the the curtain. Trust only in me, your own darling narcissist. I own your reality. Fact is what I tell you it is. Not what you observe and feel, Pumpkin."
Or to quote my father's favorite saying, "Wrong again, Buckwheat."
I was "Buckwheat" and I was wrong. Again.
