In 1768, the Powers-That-Be Tried and Failed to Seize Americans' Guns. Wash-Rinse-Repeat in 2022.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Reading about history is fascinating. Living our own period of history sucks!
Yet I recently found comfort in a brilliant Twitter thread written by The Red-Headed Libertarian revealing the futile (yet eerily familiar) attempts by the British to deprive Americans of their firearms back in 1768.
It didn't work in 1768.
It won't work in 2022.
It'll fail when they try it again in 2237, 3629 and 4152 anno Domini...if the Good Lord allows this cockeyed planet to limp along for a few more millenia!
All we have to do is match our Founding Fathers' steely resolve.
But first, a brief but surprising history about firearms in general.
To the Heroes of Coutts Border Crossing: You Actually Succeeded Beyond Your Wildest Dreams and Command our Utmost Respect
We Americans like to think we lit the fuse of Freedom with our Revolutionary War and reignited the flame with the 2016 MAGA movement but it dimmed slightly after the stolen election of 2020 and false flag of January 6th.
That's when you Canadians fanned the Torch of Freedom from a shimmering coal to a roaring conflagration that ignited the souls of Patriots from "sea to shining sea" then leapt oceansto ignite every continent for Freedom.
Oh, I know the heroes of the Coutts/Milk River Convoy are devastated today. Some are posting on social media that they feel, quite wrongly, they've failed.
Dear Brothers and Sisters of the True North, you couldn't be more wrong!
Just as on J6 in Washington D. C., you were false flagged and, instead of compromising your devotion to peace in this age of asymmetrical/social media warfare, you made the wise choice of a tactical retreat thus retaining the high ground of peace.
You chose to protect the Freedom Convoy's impeccable reputation for utter peacefulness in Canada by keeping it untarnished, an incredible example of Christlike repaying evil with good and turning the other cheek. You didn't just sing your national anthem, you honored it by living every word of it.
For that, you have America's, nay the entire world's, highest admiration. We quick-to-anger Wild Wild West Americans would do well to take your example of absolute peacefulness and unreasonable kindness to heart.
You have not failed! On the contrary, you succeeded beyond your wildest imagination. Merely because the protest at the exact geographical location of Coutts Crossing/Milk River didn't go exactly to your plans, how dare you hang your heads in shame!
